Ryan Bitinis practicing the art of plein air painting.

Welcome! I’m glad you’re here.

My name is Ryan Bitinis, and I am an Industrial Designer and Engineering CAD Technologies graduate with over 15 years experience in the visual arts industry as a professional concept artist, illustrator, and painter.

I am a friendly, reliable team player who specializes in production process development and improvement. I thrive on creating high-quality, accurate parts, tools, and prototypes that meet and exceed customer expectations.

Thank you for reviewing my portfolio! I look forward to hearing your thoughts when we meet.

3D Modeling

I work in SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Mechanical, AutoCAD Fusion, Creo 7 & 8, and Rhino 8 to create accurate, production-ready 3D models. I also have over three years of experience with rapid prototyping, including 3D printing, model making, and process and material experimentation.

2D Drawings

Work showcased here was done in AutoCAD, but I also develop 2D drawings in SolidWorks and Creo. This set of drawings includes a custom font I developed in AutoCAD called “Bithynica.”

Blueprinting

I completed these blueprints in SolidWorks as an addendum to two of the parts showcased in the 3D Modeling section.

Digital Illustration

As opposed to drawing over imported images, I draw digital paintings and illustrations by hand in Photoshop using a stylus and Cintiq. I follow traditional oil painting creation methods, including a sketch, underpainting, and color glaze.

Hand-drawn Illustration

My sketch books are the testing ground for ideas — a place to plan, imagine, iterate, and perfect an idea. I believe sketches should be fully realized and dimensioned before moving on to the next creation phase. These sketches were done with white and graphite pencils, charcoal, or ink on paper.

Paintings

These paintings are all oil on canvas, wood, or canvas board and include both studio and plein air work.

My Latest Project

I was tasked with designing a droid that would fit in the Star Wars universe, so I designed, 3D-modeled, and prototyped J-A-M3, a covert military operations droid left alone on a desolate planet with no troops and only one misison — to survive…

Past Projects

As part of my Power Transmission class, we were tasked with creating a gear-driven device, and this was my submission.
